Patrick Simkins is an Anglo-Irish painter and interactive performance artist based in Paris. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including in the UK, France, Germany, and the US.
Working in two and three-dimensional painting and collage, Patrick is interested in portraying human fragility in both the real and virtual worlds. He does this through imagery rearranged to create fictional scenes and the use of collage to illustrate our fragility. The pattern of destruction and renewal is intrinsic to Patrick’s process. It is reflected in his use of recycled paintings to create new works and in erasing and redrawing marks during his interactive drawing performances.
