Peter Matzat

Peter Matzat works primarily with acrylic paints on canvas and has a self-taught background as well as numerous gallery representations. His technique, which he calls "Roll-Art," is based on applying vibrant colors with foam and plastic rollers, creating textured fields of color; he often combines elements of Pop Art with Cubism. His works range from surreal portraits of women to geometric landscapes and reflect a boundless imagination. Through clear forms and bold colors, he creates emotionally charged visual worlds that oscillate between allure, mystery, and inspiration.
