« When I look at art I need to connect, learn, and understand. If there is not a connection, it is not art for me. »
Petr Johan Marek is an artist based in Czechia who has exhibited his paintings in both solo and group events nationally. His artworks combine various themes and techniques, combining color field abstract expressionism, pointillism, minimalism, and pop art. Marek describes his style as "varying with seasons of the year", and he repeatedly returns to a certain series or favorite colors. In his practice, he aims to convey a feeling of calm and serenity.
