Philippe Buil is an experienced French sculptor who has exhibited his work in Switzerland, France and the US. He seeks primarily to bring a distinctive lightness to heavy materials, achieved through an intricate process of melting steel and bronze drop by drop, to create a sort of metal lace. Buil's frequent subjects include Greek and Roman-inspired busts, and he enjoys playing with light, transparency and shadow.
