Rafa Latiegui, with extensive experience in video game art direction, develops a painting practice focused on the male body as a territory of desire, memory, and vulnerability. Using a style akin to figurative expressionism, he constructs his figures through planes, stains, and gestures that oscillate between presence and dissolution.
Her work is permeated by the experience of chronic pain and a queer perspective that understands the body as a site of resistance, intimacy, and conflict. Distance, the difficulty of contact, the unlived, and desire appear recurrently in scenes where physical proximity does not always imply connection.
Latiegui works from a place of searching and uncertainty, striving to make visible what often remains silent. In her paintings, fragility becomes a form of beauty and shared recognition.
