When British photographer Richard Heeps was young, he was fascinated by a photograph in the local paper depicting the demolition of an old cottage, replaced by a car park. He was struck by the importance of photography as a way to preserve the past, and that sentiment influences his work to this day. Using a range of vintage cameras, he creates his striking artworks by running his own color darkroom, hand-printing his pieces himself.
