Rubén is a self-taught artist with roots in Madrid and the Canary Islands, blending the energy of the city with the calm of the ocean. His first collection, *Swimmers*, was inspired by triathlons and Ironman races, and later became a metaphor for authenticity, courage, and choosing your own direction.
His fascination with epoxy resin led to years of experimentation with pigments, drying times, humidity, and temperature, eventually giving birth to *UnderWater*: an abstract, meditative series built layer by layer on wood, with glossy finishes and strong visual depth.
After leaving a corporate career, Rubén now works full-time as an artist. What he values most is the emotional connection his work creates with collectors around the world.
He lives and works in Madrid, where he keeps his studio and can often be found running through Retiro Park at sunrise.
