Sarah Straßmann's photographic works explore physical and digital spaces, combining the technical precision of the Bielefeld School of Photography with the conceptual orientation of the Bauhaus.
Her analog photographic series capture silent narratives within empty interiors and urban landscapes. Merging the documentary with the conceptual, her work questions the mundane and showcases new realities through careful consideration of light and shadow, urging a deeper contemplation of the world we perceive.
Additionally, Straßmann develops research-based multimedia projects that explore smartphone photography in the context of visual culture. These works, including digital photographs, generated images and collages, reflect aesthetic influences from popular culture.
Sarah Straßmann's art provokes a conversation on the digital transformation of our existence and our interaction with our surroundings, offering fresh perspectives on the fluid relationship between what's real and perceived.
