« By isolating the private from the large historical narrative I write the history of today's world, a new trauma of which is the ecological and invisible catastrophe that replaced the industrialization of the 20th century. »
Saule Suleimenova is an experienced artist based in Kazakhstan whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Switzerland, Russia, England, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Austria. Through her art, she explores themes related to issues of identity, decolonial discourse, and deconstruction of painting. Suleimenova's figurative collages are made entirely from used dyed plastic bags.
