Shakir Khalilov is an experienced painter and sculptor based in Sweden whose pieces have been exhibited nationally and in Kazakhstan. Attracted to the void, which he believes creates form and can itself act as a form, he seeks the harmony that lies between emptiness and form. While Khalilov describes his paintings as abstract expressionist in nature, his sculptural works are marked by spontaneity and symbolism.
