Shane Hart, a painter with an MFA from the University of Minnesota and a BFA from Western Michigan University, works primarily in oils after a long hiatus in software. His technique involves experimental use of materials—like bath towels, palette knives, and bamboo sticks—to layer texture, embrace mistakes, and slowly build compositions over months of work. His style seeks harmony by balancing chaos and order, drawing the viewer’s eye across the canvas. Hart’s art conveys both intellectual rigor and emotional vulnerability, inviting the audience to experience the exhilaration and humility at the heart of creation.
