« I dig deep into the roots of Cubism, Primitivism, and Surrealism and put my own intuition and intention into play, reflecting on the inner core, both dark and light. »
Shea Peterson is an award-winning artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. His distinctive style is often manifested through Cubist portraits, playful nudes, and alien landscapes. Shea's pieces convey spirtual and primal messages, and endeavors to reach the core of the viewer's being. He employs mixed techniques with oils and acrylics on canvas or paper. He is influenced by Picasso, Paul Klee, Max Ernst, early Jackson Pollock, and Basquiat.
Shea history and practice of Ayurveda, Jyotish, Orthodox Daoism, and Kashmir Shavism have added unique depth to his work.
