Sissy Schneider, trained as a painter and draftswoman, uses mixed media and moves between drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Her work varies from surrealist figurative to loose abstract, and experimentation with materials is a key to her practice. Her works strive for mythological, absurd, tragic and humorous interactions, evoking questions rather than definitive messages in the viewer. She focuses on the intangibility of the imagination and the intuitive creation of meaning and significance.
