Sofia Mangini

Sofia Mangini uses photography as a tool for investigating contemporary space, drawing on a background in architecture and visual design to explore the relationship between structure, perception, and memory.
His research focuses on urban and Brutalist architecture, transformed through rigorous compositions, suspended colors, and a strong formal reduction. His images oscillate between documentation and abstraction, creating essential scenarios in which geometries, volumes, and light construct an almost metaphysical dimension.
Through a minimal and controlled visual practice, Mangini investigates the tension between presence and absence, monumentality and silence, inviting the observer to perceive architecture as an emotional as well as physical experience.
His work has been presented at contexts such as MIA Photo Fair, Unfair Milano and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
