Stephan Peters

I was born in 1964 in Hamburg. I didn’t go to art school. I studied engineering instead and worked full-time in that field for decades. But I was always making things. Drawing, painting, photographing. Constantly trying to express myself through visual means. Whenever I found time between a 50-hour workweek, I picked up a canvas. I took several classes with German artists, all of which contributed significantly to my personal development as an artist. I live and work in Wunstorf, Germany. During my years working in a different field, I held a few smaller exhibitions in Vienna and Wunstorf, which gave me the opportunity to share my earlier artworks with the public.
My work explores surreal encounters between humans and animals. The people often don’t notice the animals. They’re just there, part of the scene, overlooked. Through my art, I hope to encourage viewers to notice the beauty that often goes unseen, and to find moments of calm, wonder, and joy in everyday life.
