« The world tries to limit our imagination and turns many lies into facts, but we can still try to find and discover something that is hopeful in the midst of violent narratives. »

Sunwoo Kim is an established South Korean painter with international exposure. He has long been interested in the symbolism of birds, and sees our modern society as a cluster of wingless birds unconsciously living to preconceived standards and expectations. His visual jungles represent and seek to promote the act of wandering as humans, encouraging each viewer to rediscover flight. This intention, combined with parody and pastiche, results in a fascinating body of work.
