« I am moving towards a more symbolic visual practice, but still use the vocabulary of realism. »
Timur Akhriev is an award-winning artist based in the United States whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level. The exploration of the formal elements of a composition fascinates him and is often what reveals a conceptual impulse. Having lived through many contrasting and formative experiences, Akhriev is drawn by gravity and to contrasts. He allows his subconscious to guide him towards a visual solution in the creation of his realistic and unique works.
