Toscane Rouhi

Toscane Rouhi, aka TOSCANE, is a French artist born in 1999 in Paris to an Iranian father and a French mother. She has lived in Morocco, the Netherlands, Suriname, and Japan, a cultural richness that nourishes her open-mindedness and her identity as a global citizen. A polyglot, she speaks French, English, Japanese, and Egyptian. From the age of two, she developed a passion for painting, mixing words and illustrations in her notebooks. In 2020, cancer turned her life upside down: weakened and bedridden, she transformed the white walls of the hospital into an explosion of color. Art became a force for resilience and joy. This experience led her to Japan, where she learned traditional techniques from masters. In 2023, she left her legal career to devote herself entirely to art. Through its central character, Mona, TUSCANY questions the fluid interaction between the individual and their environment, and how this exchange nourishes the expression of identity.
