« Our work is very eclectic, we would feel too restrained if we could not develop and use all the techniques, materials, mediums and ideas we have. Every work we make fits like a piece in the puzzle that is our body of work. »
V&B (Alex Jacobs en Ellemieke Schoenmaker) is an artist duo founded in Los Angeles in 2007. In their paintings, sculptures and installations they often comment on the (art)world with some form of self-mockery. Their work combines historic references with borrowed elements from the media and popular culture. Both spontaneous inspiration as critical interest reveal unexpected combinations that invite the viewer to search for commonly missed connotations.
