Vasil Vasilev

Bulgarian painter Vasil Vasilev has shown work in solo exhibitions throughout his home country and Germany. Working mainly on canvas and paper, Vasilev mixes pen, india ink, acrylic paints, and pencil to construct and explore multiple layers of each work. Vasilev sees color as the heart of his works, and views his use of color as a way to understand and excavate the spiritual soul of an object. Abstract and multilayered, Vasilev's paintings unite the eternal and the banal in rich volumes and captivating textures.
