Born in Austria in 1971, JOWU came to painting after years of restoring a castle. A self-taught artist, he began developing Chromanarrativism as a way to give expression to experiences he couldn't find in words.
In her work, color conveys emotional states and reveals tensions, ruptures, and processes of transformation. Each painting is part of an ongoing quest: new works expand and deepen her pictorial language.
JOWU currently works between Almería and Mallorca. In Llucmajor, the Born 16 project marks a new stage in the presentation of his work and the evolution of Chromanarrativism.
His painting explores the boundary between reason and emotion, destruction and rebirth.
