My path has been anything but typical. A painter since childhood, at 18 I chose to pursue my artistic quest by studying painting restoration. Trained at the École du Louvre and the workshops of the Palace of Versailles, I marvel at the legacy that precedes us. I understand the masters: materials, pigments, oils, everything. Naturally, I apply this to my own work. For a long time, my painting reflected this heritage while conveying contemporary ideas. But in 2013: an idea! I must go on a pilgrimage. More than 6,000 km on the roads of France and Spain. I search for sections of the Camino de Santiago. Upon my return, my style had undergone a complete transformation. Freer, more authentic, more truthful. I explore the art of painting through meditation on complex ideas, fruits of my experience, but I maintain a necessary distance from myself by creating a series where humor, self-deprecation and irony speak this language of childhood, which I would call today the wisdom of painting.
