Harold Manly Stewart is a self-taught painter who has exhibited in Ibiza and Barcelona, his training forged through his travels in Africa, India, and Europe. He uses mixed media—oils, inks, pencils, pastels, and more—on supports as varied as canvas, wood, and even leaves. His style, with echoes of Fayum portraiture, is based on imagined portraits and deep contemplation before beginning to work. Each of his pieces reveals a universe of subtle and profound emotions, capturing the mysterious beauty of humanity.
