US-based Painter Yulia Lastochkina draws artistic inspiration from the natural world of her childhood in eastern Russia. Interested in the interaction of color and texture, Lastochkina allows elements of surprise into her process, preferring to pour rather than apply paint so that it has the opportunity to take on a life of its own. Lastochkina's multi-layered, abstract works have a thrilling dynamism and pulse with electric color.
