About this artwork

In this abstract figurative painting, with the dynamic and vibrant colors of acrylic paints, the human body is represented as a mask, reflecting the complex structure of the human soul. Masks symbolize the individual's hiding of the self in society and the way it is shaped by social norms. Each mask represents a different role and identity, while at the same time showing in a mirror how reality humiliates the individual with its cruel face. …
The abstract forms in the composition express the emotional and mental states of the individual, while revealing the isolation that lies behind these masks. The transitions of colors and the mobility of the forms symbolize the individual's effort to adapt to society. However, the emotions within these masks, deep feelings such as anxiety, fear and love, are presented to the viewer as a shelter.
