Abdulrahman Hamdi is a Saudi multidisciplinary artist exploring abstraction, cultural memory, and language. Currently pursuing his MFA in Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), he was awarded a scholarship by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, becoming one of the first Saudis accepted into the program. His bold oil and acrylic paintings reflect themes of identity, displacement, . In 2024, he presented solo shows in AlUla and at The Royal Palace in Jeddah, and curated You Think You Know Me at SAIC. His work has been featured in VOGUE Arabia, Harper’s Bazaar, and Arab News, and collected by the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C., The Misk Foundation, and others. A former lawyer with a master’s from USC, Hamdi uses his background to inform a socially engaged practice. He was nominated for Forbes 30 Under 30 North America and other awards.
