"My work is a conglomerate of the ubiquitous counterposed with rare, precious, or divine elements."
"NOTHING," is the fourth part of a four part progression series, "Everything, Anything, Something, and Nothing." The piece features many layers, heavy texture, and original symbols. The single square with line through is the Quanta, or… fractal-- a building block of creation. The multiple squares with line through symbolize reality tied together by multiple by perception. The 24k Gold Crown is a symbol of legacy and a nod to Jean Michel Basquiat. The Charcoal lettering in back layer is pulled at random from Shakespeare. And the four crosses represent four of the nine Greek muses devoted to poetry.

Adam Martin Disbrow is a prize-winning American artist whose paintings have been extensively exhibited nationally and internationally. His diverse oeuvre is a conglomerate of the ubiquitous counterposed with rare, precious, or divine elements. By approaching a new piece in a state of “no-mind” he begins a work in an aleatoric way, adding specificity and objectivity as the piece develops. He also incorporates language and symbols in his art, drawing upon classical and modern poetry and prose. His work addresses issues of conflict, supremacy, harmony, and duality. He seeks to create art that acts as a mirror and promotes self-awareness.
