About this artwork
In Bubble of Joy, I let pink and sky blues burst forth in a free and instinctive energy. The hues overlap, rub against each other, sometimes dissolve, carried by a spontaneous, almost childlike gesture. I seek movement more than control, vibration more than precision.
The frame is recycled, like the canvas; it's not new, time has left its mark (and I don't mind that, I admit ;))
The frame is not attached to the canvas, it is up to you whether you… leave it or not…the frame is offered with the canvas.
The canvas is thick, rough, partially covered with paper that creates textures and imperfections. In places, I've left the reclaimed wood of the stretcher exposed, preserved in its original state to accentuate its raw power. The whole piece exudes an immediate joy, a vibrant, simple, and intense bubble.
