« My art is an adventure into the unknown world of imagination. »
Adegboyega Arohunmolase is an artist based in Nigeria whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. His artistic practice was influenced by three factors: Abstract Expressionism, Shapes and Patterns. His work explores the use of geometric or biomorphic shapes and strong colours, characterized by dense and unexpected structures with a conviction to intense build up through patterning to explore the relationship between chaos and order and how the two can coexist. He strive to capture the dynamic balance between the two and how they complement each other. He is also interested in exploration of the subconscious mind and how it can be translated into visual art. His works are a reflection of his inner emotions and feelings and an attempt to express the inexpressible, to capture the intangible, and to portray the beauty of the unknown. He most often creates with acrylics and collage on paper.
