About this artwork
"Ascent" is a work from the Embered series and exists in the tension between quiet strength and inner awakening. Layer by layer, a soft, atmospheric surface of the image is created, in which energy gathers without becoming loud.
Subtle transitions and muted color tones create space for depth and movement. Collage elements are integrated into the painting, expanding the surface with additional layers and structures. This results in a multi-layered… pictorial space that oscillates between density and dissolution.

“Inbetween” explores the tension between structure and dissolution, balance and movement. Through a process of searching, layering, and reducing, pictorial spaces emerge in which opposites are allowed to coexist.
“Unfolding” shifts the focus towards letting go, memory, and quiet movement. Forms and color spaces unfold without a fixed motif, developing in the painting process and consciously remaining open. Works emerge from a state of observation and breathing – as visual spaces between presence and disappearance.
