About this artwork
This painting captures the quiet movement of water seen from above, where light, depth, and reflection dissolve into one another. Layers of turquoise, teal, and deep blue flow across the surface, evoking the sensation of a living sea in constant, gentle motion. Soft, luminous highlights suggest sunlight breaking through water, creating a sense of transparency and calm.
A single white flower floats on the surface, introducing a delicate human-scale… moment within the vastness of water. It acts as a point of stillness — a pause — contrasting with the surrounding currents and adding a subtle narrative of fragility, balance, and presence.
Painted with expressive, fluid brushstrokes, the work emphasizes rhythm and atmosphere rather than literal detail. The textured surface enhances the feeling of movement and depth, inviting the viewer to slow down and drift into contemplation. This piece explores themes of serenity, impermanence, and the quiet poetry of nature.
Aisylu is a contemporary artist whose artworks are in private collections in USA, Russia and Europe (Greece,Italy, France, Cyprus, Netherlands). In search of a major life change, Aisylu moved to Greece in 2018 to work as a yacht stewardess. It was during this time at sea that she realized how profoundly the ocean influenced her, inspiring her to return to art and focus on creating oil seascapes. Starting her life from scratch, she learned the Greek language and immersed herself in the local culture. Currently based in the port city of Piraeus, Greece, Aisylu works as an artist in the neo impressionist style. Her art serves as a reminder of the fluidity of life and the importance of not forgetting to enjoy it.
