About this artwork
Just like fish swim in seemingly random directions and speeds, so too do we in "Keeping in Touch" with our friends and family. We are all heading on different paths and at different rates, yet group chats allow us to check in with those we love. We add a smile to their lives or a helping hand or share a common interest, all within fixed constraints. The painting represents these movements and interactions.

AJ Burns, a civil-engineer-turned-artist, breathes vibrant life into his expressionist acrylic paintings. Rooted in minimal tools, his transformative technique involves blowing paint across the canvas, creating riveting aquatic dynamics and abstract forms. He captures the subtle, tranquil undertones of the water's surface, transmuting the profound calmness and intrigue it imbues.
