About this artwork
The lie begins small but once spoken it refuses to sit still. The pants ignite first, flames licking at the fabric where truth should have lived. From that heat, strange forces awaken. Purple shapes twist and curl around the scene like thoughts trying to escape their own story, watching the lie grow larger than its teller intended. Patterns multiply, repeating and spiraling as the mind works to defend what it knows is false. The body stands at the… center, caught between confession and invention. In the end, the fire does not destroy the lie.
Alan MacIntyre creates work under the pseudonym of LooseCanine. He makes mixed-media reliefs rooted in sculpture, painting, and printmaking. His improvisational process layers free-flowing acrylics, cut hardboard, and collage into dimensional works alive with energy and mythic narrative. By assembling recurring characters he evokes tension, conflict, and eventual harmony. Each piece vibrates with playful strangeness and vital, raw emotion, drawing viewers into a world where chaos and resolution beautifully collide.
