About this artwork
Cherres explores the need for people to believe in a certain god or goddess, the passion, the anxiety, consequences and the blinding worship. He portrays people based on his own youthful experience with religion. Although a controversial subject, his intention is rather light.
This is a square mid-size (46 x 46 inches) contemporary oil painting on a stretched canvas titled "Goddesses." Canvas is stretched on wooden strips and is ready for framing… or to be displayed as is. This painting is signed 'cherres' in the lower right corner.

« Through layers of paint, brushstrokes, palette knives, rags, and fingers I am constantly seeking new ways to say what is inside of me. »
Aldo Cherres is an American artist who has exhibited in both the United States and Spain. He characterizes his art as being mostly objective, yet always imbued with a deeper meaning. Cherres translates both simple and complex concepts that question our existence, as well as our roles with other people and nature. The human approaches in decision making, facing problems, and how to solve and surpass them also fascinates him. His art is a relfection of his innate curiosity.
