About this artwork
Although some of the paintings from this series look obvious, Cherres was inspired to depict that feeling we sometimes get as if we were floating in space. His ideas somehow reflect our daily life, our difficulties, struggles, complications, decision making; always questioning our own existence.
This oil painting is a large rectangular format (60 x 80 inches) titled "Gravity IV." Canvas is stretched on wooden strips and is ready for framing or… to be displayed as is. Painted dominantly in light gray hues with complementary earth tone accents. This painting is signed 'cherres' in the lower left corner.

« Through layers of paint, brushstrokes, palette knives, rags, and fingers I am constantly seeking new ways to say what is inside of me. »
Aldo Cherres is an American artist who has exhibited in both the United States and Spain. He characterizes his art as being mostly objective, yet always imbued with a deeper meaning. Cherres translates both simple and complex concepts that question our existence, as well as our roles with other people and nature. The human approaches in decision making, facing problems, and how to solve and surpass them also fascinates him. His art is a relfection of his innate curiosity.
