Alejandra Sieder is a distinguished Venezuelan-Spanish artist based in Sydney, who has been selected as a finalist for the Contemporary Art Prize in Australia three years in a row. Her paintings act as abstract interpretations of her personal perception of the world around her, and provide an exploration into the introspective self. Employing a range of materials such as oil, acrylic, sand and iron shavings, she composes paintings that display bold physicality, unexpected dimensions and an underlying emotional current.
