About this artwork
The work "Cięcie" explores the notion of cutting—simultaneously as a pictorial, sonic, and spatial gesture. On the surface, layers of color collide, overlap, and crack, revealing zones of accumulation and tension. Each trace evokes a place of resonance: a point where urban sounds, fragments of voices, and silences condense before dispersing. The cutting here becomes an act of composition—a rhythm, a boundary, a breath.
"Aleksandra Nowak is a visual artist, translating her training in painting and her musical background. She implements a contemporary style, combining the abstract and the expressive with figurative elements inspired by the sounds that surround her. Questioning the relationship between human architecture and nature, and exploring the role of women in society, her works depict a sensory meditation on each chosen theme."
