And after eight years, I finally finished it.
Subways without passengers.
"Immovable" escalators.
Empty cities.
A work that I started in 2013 and shelved for several years, until today, when it acquired a new meaning and I was able to complete.
A work that was born as a stylistic exercise, but which in the last year has taken on a meaning it did not have before.
EMPTY CITIES (in Italian "Città Empty") is the title of this painting, made in… oil on canvas. 2013 / 2021.
Dimensions with frame: 126 x 86 cm
American-style wooden frame, matt black

Alessandra Pagliuca
Italy

Mixing-hyper realist elements with conceptual qualities, she alternates classical images with snapshots of everyday contemporary life or modern media to achieve an overall aesthetic that challenges first appearances.
