Alex Rubanov is a Ukrainian artist whose works have been displayed nationally, as well as in China, and Lithuania. He believes that art is as necessary as the air we breathe, making us human. Rubanov does not like shortcuts, especially in his artistic process. He enjoys the freedom in interpreting his ideas from symbolism to abstraction. Some of the central themes in his work deal with his past and present life, music, cinema, social processes, and events.
