About this artwork
I created this paper mache sculpture, with strands of vegan leather, acrylics (alphabet soup) and sequins, seeking to fuse soft textures with the hardness of acrylic in compositions that highlight every detail. When looking at it, you can feel a variety of emotions, from joy to nostalgia, particularly due to the apparent innocence of the object that evokes childhood memories. This piece not only decorates a space, but fills it with energy and warmth.

ALEXA RIV, a lawyer turned sculptor, uses unconventional materials such as sequins, crystals and acrylics. Her empirical approach leads her to explore reality and fantasy with detailed and meticulous techniques, creating the series “Timeless Creatures”, where her anthropomorphic beings are recreated with astonishing three-dimensional precision. Her pieces spark deep reflection on the coexistence between humans and animals, conservation and memory.
