About this artwork
This painting is a new starting point for further work on climate change, pollution and basic waste of resources. I am trying to build on the concept of all my previous SUV paintings, where a 3D rendering forms the basis of the painting. Here I have designed and modelled a water dispenser in 3D and placed it in an abandoned landscape. The display on the device signals that the water is not a public good and can only be consumed for a fee. Paradoxically,…
the water gushes out of the fountain incessantly, maybe caused by a software error. On the one hand, water is becoming a luxury commodity these days, but on the other, it is being used carelessly and wastefully. Moreover the fountain is located in a place where nobody is around.
