We are under water.
As in previous works, there is a certain tension between strongly abstracted and figurative image segments. How parts of the body transform into colored areas when viewed and back again is also an issue. Deciphering the abstraction in representations of the flesh works over a large part of the surface. The higher the eye travels, the more difficult this becomes and ultimately succumbs to an indissoluble disturbing… factor of the refraction of light at the point where the body meets the water surface.
