About this artwork
This sculpture is made of linden, covered with enamel.
The elephant symbolizes strength, insight and longevity. The elephant is the mount of the Indian rulers and the Hindu god of thunder and rain Indra. The elephant symbolized not only the qualities necessary for a good ruler - dignity, intelligence, prudence, but also peacefulness, plentiful harvests, fruitful showers, that is, everything good and positive that was in the life of Hindus.
