In my abstract acrylic paintings I explore the interplay of light and darkness. I let myself be guided by deep emotions and spontaneous impressions. This work is an expression of power, dynamic movement and the tension between the visible and hidden layers of our world. Each brush stroke is intended to invite the viewer into the space in between - an invitation to meditate on the nature of light.

Alexander Wotschel is a Ukrainian-German, multidisciplinary artist and art teacher born in Krasnoturinsk, who lives in Germany and has exhibited his work in various countries. His artistic style and expression are diverse and conveyed through abstract still lifes and portraits. Through Expressionism, Wotschel works creatively with color, then establishes a foundation for creating a composition. His bold works are translated into acrylics, oils, collage, and pastels on canvas or paper.
