About this artwork
The Lovers is part of the Tarot series, which explores the symbolic and spiritual depth of the Tarot. Each work in this series is not intended as an illustration, but rather as an abstract, emotional reflection of archetypal energies.
The Lovers unfolds as a field of tension and attraction—a visual fabric of movement, touch, and space. Two forces seem to meet in the composition: not as figures, but as atmospheres, as energetic poles.
In the Tarot,… "The Lovers" represents not only romantic union, but also choice, the conscious affirmation of one's own path. The work addresses this aspect by visualizing not only closeness but also difference. It depicts the in-between: the space in which choice becomes transformation. Color transitions, shimmering edges, and overlapping layers open up a sensual world in which relationship can be experienced as a creative act—between I and you, between inside and outside.
Alexandra Bohemia, trained in art and architectural history, and architecture, prefers to work with mixed media. She combines intuitive and controlled techniques to create emotional topographies through the fluid, luminous use of color. Alexandra's art opens a dialogue between textures and transparencies, creating depth through layering. With the intention of capturing fleeting moments, her work inspires attention, slowing down, and appreciating the beauty of each moment.
