About this artwork
A pink Christmas rose blooms on one of the first fine days of spring. The viewer is directly in the warming rays of the sun. You can literally smell the spring air. The flowers are painted in different shades of green and pink. The artist achieves a beautiful glow with neon accents. The combination of shades of green, pink and hot pink looks elegant yet fresh. Since the artist produces the paint herself, you can still see the particles of the pure…
pigments. The contrast between thin paint and sprayed areas is what makes this painting so appealing. This also results in the interplay of matt and glossy surfaces. The liquid color also flows onto the edges of the picture carrier, which is more than 4 cm wide, leaving the painting three-dimensional. The sides of the work are also designed separately, so that it is also impressive when viewed from the side. All materials used are of the highest artist quality.

« Each of my pictures should appear as if a little bit of color had happened by chance, formed into a composition in a miraculous way, but could disappear again at any time. »
Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
