For me autumn is a metaphor for transformation, and the cyclical nature of life. It represents the end of a season, the necessity of leaving things behind to make way for the new. It can symbolize personal growth, or the soul's transition from the physical world.
For me it signifies a time to let go of what no longer serves you, to make space for new beginnings.
And the red leaf can symbolize (for those who are grieving) hot memories.
