About this artwork
LEON, for me, symbolizes a humanistic worldview in which the dignity and freedom of every individual is respected. A world in which every person can develop freely,
always with respect and tolerance towards all living beings.
"I will not give up my freedom in exchange for good deeds, nor my human dignity in exchange for charitable gifts. I have learned to think and act for myself..." (Excerpt from A FREE PERSON by Albert Schweitzer.
Large format,… acrylic on canvas. Hand signed and ready to hang.

« Sometimes you have to paint over the edge to get a different view. »
Alexandra Machmar is an artist living in Germany. The canvas is her playground, where she has carte blanche. Brushes and paint are her ticket to another world.
Her pictures are the memory of her life's traces, the archive of her life, so to speak. They make memories, feelings, and experiences visible.
Her goal is to express her positive attitude to life in colorful compositions.
With my art I have searched for stubbornness, guided by intuition, dreams and the magic of the subconscious.
With my pictures I capture the colorful rebellious and also the quiet deep moments
to reawaken enthusiasm for our lives again and again.
