Alexandre Pons

France

Alexandre Pons' artistic sensibility is primarily focused on materials and color. To create his works, he uses natural pigments, India ink, walnut stain, layered oil pastels, as well as various papers with different textures and gold and silver leaf, which are sometimes found to enrich his compositions. His preferred colors are red, black, white, and natural hues.

Spontaneity, instinct, and chance play an essential role in his creative process. Alexandre appreciates the "accidents" that can occur on the canvas, as they add an unpredictable dimension to his art. Painting allows him to lose himself in the unknown while remaining grounded in the present moment.

Alexandre Pons is inspired by various artists, including Antoni Tapiès, Antoni Clavé, Thibault de Reimpré, Michèle Destarac, Manolo Millares, De Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Nicolas de Staël, André Lanskoy, Bram van Velde
