About this artwork
A more complex work, "Marrakech" cannot be tamed as easily as other paintings by the artist. It will take long minutes for the observer to capture the nuances and complexity of this canvas which calls for another color palette, little seen by the artist until now. This land of Siena, this orange, this yellow ... the Jemaa el Fna square is not far away ...
Alexis Vandendaelen
Belgium
« Like traveling in the great outdoors, painting requires, in my opinion, a dose of humility, courage, but also a grain of madness and a touch of passion. »
Alexis Vandendaelen is a French painter who has exhibited nationally as well as in Belgium. His abstract works portray the rivalry between chaos and calm as represented in nature. Vandendaelen is inspired by the almost mystical appeal of unpopulated and barren landscapes, untouched by man, as well as the deadly beauty of the sea. He uses acrylics, pastels, inks and charcoal in the creation of his compositions.
